We will endeavour to do our very best for the children in their first years at school and to make this time as happy and productive as possible.

Governing Body

The Governors are part of the team responsible for providing the best possible education for all the children in the school.

 The Governing Body is made up of:

  • Parent Governors, elected by the parents;
  • Governors appointed by the county council;
  • A Teacher Governor, elected by the teachers;
  • Governors co-opted by the Governing Body (often representatives of local industry and commerce);
  • The Headteacher.

Governors' meetings

The Governing Body meets formally twice each term. The Governors do their main work in committees that cover areas of teaching and learning, school improvement, finance, premises, pay and personnel, communication, grievance/discipline, strategy etc.

 Parent Governors

All parents/carers are eligible to stand for election as Parent Governors. If you are interested, please approach one of the current Parent Governors to find out more, or ask at the school office for the leaflet 'What is a Governor?'

For more information about becoming a Governor and What Governors do, visit the Governor's page on the Gloucestershire County Council Website.
