ICT
ICT (Information Communications Technology) is given a high
profile at Elmbridge Infant School.
Facilities
We have personal computers in each classroom and sixteen laptops connected to a laptop bus that can be used in all the classrooms for group teaching. Each class has access to the internet so there is the opportunity for the children to collect information in relation to the current topic. The school also has an interactive whiteboard in every classroom to support the ICT curriculum and to enable more effective whole class learning.
Computer Skills
Children are given the opportunity to learn specific skills in class sessions and ICT is also integrated into the teaching of other subjects through cross-curricular links to make the most of the software available. Basic computer skills are taught in the Reception classes and these skills are built upon as the children move through the school.
The Internet
Each classroom has a connection point to the school's network and the internet. Our internet connections are all filtered by an educational package and children always use the internet under adult supervision. Parents are required to sign an agreement to our Internet Rules to enable their child/children to use the Internet.
